![]() ![]() I want to I just want it to make it clear that this is my experience with my friends at UChicago and that my experience does NOT generalize the school as a whole. But to me personally, I am a person who wants to live my life more than just studying. However, a con about UChicago is more so the lifestyle- I have some friends there and (there is nothing wrong with this) they are focusing on studying almost all the time, which is great! They get so many great internships and have great resources and they work extremely hard for it. Personally, I think UChicago is better if you're looking into finance. The location is in a college town, so you could get that "college life" if you really want. UIUC is a nice school in that they do testing for COVID twice a week, and they have such a large student body that you can find a club you like. UIUC also has good financial aid for in state tuition, so consider looking into that if that applies to you. Its higher than schools like Cornell and Princeton. To put things into perspective for CS at UIUC- their CS department in 2018 ranks #5 in America. UChicago is a private school while UIC and UIUC are public schools. So first, UChicago is not affiliated with UIC, but UIC and UIUC are affiliated as they are under the University of Illinois umbrella.
